Since 1987, SASC has operated a problem gambling prevention and treatment program in Northeast Iowa. Services are available to residents of a 10-county area that includes Allamakee, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Howard, Jones, Jackson, Linn, and Winneshiek counties.

Prevention services

• Educational programs for community groups that explore the issues surrounding legalized gambling
• Programming for groups that discuss no-risk/low-risk guidelines for responsible gaming

The program is designed for the individual who:

• Is experiencing an increase in the size or frequency of bets
• Goes gambling with increasing frequency
• Gambles to win back what he/she lost (known as chasing)

The program is designed for the family member who:

• Is worried about their loved one's gambling activities
• Doesn't know what to do next.

Distance Treatment
