SASC Gambling

      Treatment Program

Since 1987, SASC has operated a problem gambling prevention and treatment program in Northeast Iowa.  Services are available to residents of a 11-county area that includes Allamakee, Clayton, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Howard,  Jones,

Jackson, Linn, and Winneshiek counties.

CONFIDENTIAL treatment services:

· Crisis counseling to address immediate concerns

· Assessment services to determine the scope of the issues

· Counseling for individuals, couples, and families.

· Distance treatment  -  call for more information.

 

Prevention services:

· Educational programs for community groups that explore the issues surrounding legalized gambling

· Programming for groups that discuss  no-risk/low-risk guidelines for responsible gaming

 

The program is designed for the individual who:

· Is experiencing an increase in the size or frequency of bets;

· Goes gambling with increasing frequency;

· Gambles to “win back what he/she  lost” (known as chasing).

 

The program is designed for the family member who:

· Is worried about their loved one’s gambling activities;

· Doesn’t know what to do next.

 

Costs:
